SHORT OVERVIEW OF OUR MAIN SERVICES

  • Mastering For All Digital Formats

    Fresh perspective and objectivity,

Just as you I want this mastering to work out the BEST as possible. Tell me what you're looking for and let me know about your project and music. You might be looking for a cheap & good Job , or you might be looking for an ultimate mastering on your personal or label project.  Clients come in from all kinds of angels and some have bigger budgets available then others.  Like all I like to have some time to show my quality of work. I always try to work in a way where there's time for feedback and listening before/while mastering your album and music.

Gear & Magic or not ,

I still feel mastering is no gear magic, first of all it's listening to your mixes or album as it comes in. The mixes should tell me the way the mastering is going, I appreciate specific info on the individual tracks if you have some specific concerns/notes what should be fixed or kept alive. It also could be that you are  100% okay with the mixes and just need that final touch up , level , euphoric enhancement or quality control.

  • Sound, Tape & Vinyl

    Going Vintage on Tape ,

I love the digital age and I also deeply care for sound and tradition. Nothing more easy as digital files for sharing, distribution  and editing. But just sometimes I realize that  the sound which started this whole music & recording industry, was made on tape and brought to us pressed into Vinyl. You could say it's the origin/base of the sound of all current recorded modern music. Maybe it does not fit your project or the finesse in sound is not for you, but if your curious on what it can do for you, check out what I think Inlinemastering can do for you.

mix to tape & master from tape,

For sure mixing down to tape would be the best option to get that tape vibe, just make sure we can align your tapes properly (test_tones) and we can support your tape_speed. It would be wise to contact me before you start mixing and we can work out the tape details to ensure a perfect mastering session !

  • Restoration Services

    Audio Restoration  & Digital Archiving

Audio restoration is a generalized term for the process of removing imperfections (such as hiss, impulse noise, crackle, wow and flutter, background noise, and mains hum) from sound recordings.  Modern audio restoration techniques are usually performed by digitizing an audio source from analog media, such as lacquer recordings, optical sources and magnetic tape.

We have an excellent sounding vintage studer A80 1/4 inch  - 7,5 & 15ips as playback  ATR  when digitizing your old mastertapes & precious recordings. The other ATR is an exclusive A80RC 1/2 inch rec/play at 15/30ips.

Once in the digital realm, recordings can be restored and cleaned up using our digital audio workstation.  The DAW can perform various automated techniques to remove anomalies using algorithms to accomplish broadband denoising, declicking and decrackling, as well as removing buzzes and hums.

  • Full AAA mastering for Vinyl

Full Analog Mastering for a Vinyl Record Production,

if you have your mix-down done to analog tape (½ inch, ¼inch) and you want your final masters for your vinyl sides done to tape, we at inlinemastering are thrilled to help you out with your project. It almost becomes a lost art, maintained by a few mastering house around the globe.

We are proud to be one of the few mastering houses with current experience and the right tools to get your project ready & up to all specific specifications required by the lacquer cutting engineers. It's not an easy job, and we can save a lot of time if you contact me in advance so we can prepare on both sides for the most easy work flow in the mix and later our mastering. Test-tones, perfect documentation on times/mix_versions, or pre_paring an all okay-ed tape_set in the right sequence of your album are all smal stuff, but they save an amazing amount of time in the mastering.

Tape is not like the obvious ctrl+c/ctrl+v in your DAW, the physical handling and aligning takes serious time to do to the highest level. These things can not be taken lightly ! Aligning  the azimuth, setting the bass/high levels right .. it's a major job for me as your ME.

    Mastered for Itunes

Inlinemastering is  an Apple Certified Mastering studio to provide you with the master files needed for the Mastered For iTunes program. The standard file resolution for submitting audio to the iTunes Store (and most other digital releases) is 16-bit/44.1k (standard CD format). Using higher resolution source files and following the Mastered For iTunes guidelines can be wise for more reasons then only better sound quality. If in the the near future apple decides to provide high_res lossless formats to the listeners, they will have the best/optimum source tracks in their database to create these new upcoming formats from your releases. Check with your digital music distributor to learn more about their rates and policies for Mastered For iTunes releases.

Some Personal Info

I always have been intrigued/intoxicated by sound from an early age. The black magic vinyl records from my father and of course watching Stevie Nicks/Fleetwood Mac on Top of the Pops with Go Your One Way, made an everlasting impression on me. I was lucky to get my first electric guitar around 16 and soon started  playing in school-bands as a lead guitarist.  After finishing High School I stayed in a kibbutz for a year and met lot's of people from all over the world while working/traveling.

Around 20 I started doing home-recordings on porta-studios and was an early adopter of the midi revolution. I enjoyed recording/creating my music and playing around with all options that emerged in the digital world, but still using tascam ATR's as recording medium. Later I switched to DAW's on the Mac. At that same time I picked up recording, I used to hitchhike/backpack a lot around Europe, Israel and Egypt, later traveling (backpacking) to India, Thailand, Russia and Africa, I enjoyed  bird watching there.

I listened to all kinds of music while growing up and playing guitar in local bands. Listening from Bob Dylan to AC/DC to Chuck Berry, The Eagles, The Cure, David Sylvian, Bauhaus, Bob Marley, Miles Davis, Black Uhuru, Tramps, Tavares, Billy Holiday, Stiff Little Fingers, TC-matic, Pink Floyd, U2, Beatles, Rolling Stones, The Clash, the Stranglers, Tracy Chapman, Queen, all pre-MTV and Classical music, Ethnic Music, Acoustic or deep  Electronic.  Well I could fill this whole page. I'm still emotional about listening to music. From folk to trance and Hip-Hop as long it's performed well, made with passion, made with young enthusiasm, I will enjoy.

Right now as life starts getting better, I've got a beautiful loving/caring wife and three great, funny and noisy kids. My main goal is to be among the best mastering engineers and taking inline all the way up ... I like and ride Ducati motorbikes (best sound) and Klein racing bikes ... we all bike in Holland and have wooden shoes ... well that's enough about me ... oh Yes, and I should start playing more guitar.

HOW LONG DOES MY MASTERING TAKE

The turnaround time for an album is around 7 to 12 days. Single tracks and shorter projects can often be completed in 3 to 5 days. If you contact me in advance I can schedule my planning accordingly, so I can meet your schedule.

We can do a 8/12 hours mastering job for you, just contact me and we get your mastering scheduled for "First Next" , If you need a rush job like this be prepared to pay a double price for this.

We just love to help you out & take pride in never missing a deadline, whatever that may mean in a mastering/music context.
